TEENIE
Hi! I’m Teenie Mitchell, the designer & maker of Teenie Jewelry. I’ve been making jewelry for over ten years. I started by taking classes at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco while earning my BFA in Costume Design. I explored working with a variety of techniques and developed skills in fabric manipulation, draping, flat pattern making, sewing, corsetry, beading, embroidery, illustration, and metal arts & jewelry. I enjoyed experimenting with all them, but my true passion became clear as my connection with metalsmithing continued to grow stronger and stronger. It’s truly magical how one can manipulate a piece of sheet metal into three dimensional form, and how the process of creating is as personal as the final piece.

Since 2015, I have produced three collections – Bali, Siren, and Helio. Stylistically, my artistic inspiration stems from my fascination with art, antiquity, culture, nature, and traveling. I love organic shapes, and I find something very mesmerizing about spheres. They speak to my soul. The mystical world, alchemy, and the cosmos do, too. Sacred geometry is also a big influence. I view my work to be bold in design and fluid in form. I embrace the subtle imperfections while enhancing them with thorough finishing & polishing techniques. The overall effect leaves each piece with an organic and luxurious feel. My process involves both hand fabrication and wax carving. I love working with sterling silver, gold, gemstones, crystals & minerals, seashells, and fossils. I like to think of my creations as hidden treasures unearthed.
