Born to a rural Midwest farm town, this Indiana native quickly immersed herself in life on the road. Dreaming beyond the fields and blue collar jobs of Bradford, IN was a far reach for the local flavor. Landing her first corporate photo job with Wayfair in Cincinnati, OH, she quickly learned the ins and outs of high volume product photography and set design. After a graceful exit from the treadmill, she wandered to sunny California to re-plant her roots: a home for her childlike curiosity and brightness for life. A beginner surfer, skater, and maker of pizza, Deidre is exploring the idea of home as it relates to herself not in people or places. You can follow her travels and photo essays at http://deidrebook.com/family-room.
All these revolutionary ideas and technicolor fairytales propelled me here to this exact moment in history to share a little more joy in the world. I think Ventura feels like Corydon, Indiana + Pacific Ocean. If you should ever find yourself there you’ll say, “Ahhh, yes this is familiar.” I think it’s true of most people and places. There is this bold connection that we all hold to each other that far outweighs all of our differences. I’ll always carry this gratitude for wandering through life and I hope that my travels will spark a bit of your own curiosity for living. The road has always risen to meet me in this grand gesture. I have learned to find a home within myself. I think the world is full of brilliant illuminating details, and I want to taste them all. I hope you’ll join me in a sun soaked glittery ride of a lifetime. Welcome Home this is Family Room.
